19.12.2011 - Neumarkt/Oberpfalz – The highperformance modules from solar manufacturer, Jurawatt, are known for their long- life and robustness. There is a reason for this. The company has them un- dergo extensive testing and continues to develop them. Our goal is to offer products that distinguish themselves in every field of use and climate with their exceptional properties”, explains CEO Patrick Thoma. Now, Jurawatt has taken on a new problem: resistance to ammonia.
There is hardly a stall or barn roof that does not now have solar modules. Farmers are becoming energy providers even though animal husbandry is also one of the largest producers of ammonia emissions. In appropriate concentrations, ammonia doesn’t just endanger the health of people and animals. It can also accelerate the aging of solar equip- ment and thereby lead to performance reductions.
Jurawatt reacted immediately after this problem came to their attention. The manufacturer had the ammonia resis- tance of all module types be comprehensively tested by XERON AG, located in Zug in Switzerland. The test results that have now been documented prove that the materials in the Jurawatt modules are anticorrosive and can hardly be attacked by ammonia. This hold true for the glass panes and the backing film as well as the aluminum frames. The photovoltaic modules from Jurawatt
are thus ideally appropriate for solar projects on agricultural buildings. This makes them extremely interesting for general contractors who want to setup photovoltaic equipment close to agricultural operations.

05.09.2011 - The Bavarian manufacturer of solar modules is certified for the Conto Energia IV and in Italy.
Now also affirmed by the Chamber of Indust- ry & Commerce Regensburg, Jurawatt recei- ves the “Made in Germany“ attribute. With this Jurawatt meets the conditions for the special transmission for Italy.
Since 1 August solar power transmission in Ita- ly is being regulated differently. The grid agen- cy GSE pays ten percent more subsidies for projects that are installed with European com- ponents. The Bavarian enterprise Jurawatt fully and entirely meets the conditions, because the modules are manufactured exclusively in Neu- markt in Oberpfalz.
Besides, the products from the solar module specialist are well-suited for deployment in the southern region of Europe. The polycrystalline solar modules are particularly heat resistant and capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions. Their total capacity is at present 45 megawatt. The cells from Jurawatt have alrea- dy proved their high efficiency during several independent tests.
Ongoing development
The solar module manufacturing company Ju- rawatt has its own research division which col- laborates closely with universities and research institutes, for example, the Fraunhofer Institu- te. The company has high expectations concer- ning the quality of its products. Modules with higher yield and more stability are the declared objectives of the developers which they cons- tantly strive to accomplish. The latest achieve- ment is a very efficient heat resistant module that can be ideally deployed in hot regions.
About Jurawatt
The founding of the family enterprise Jurawatt in 2010 was backed by J.v.G. Thoma GmbH which en- joys more than 20 years of experience in the solar power sector. Jurawatt stands for tested quality and commitment to responsibility: the company is decorated with the TEC Eco-label and the IEC seal; it also received the CE award and was certified by TÜV North. In addition, Jurawatt is a member of the PV Cycle organization.

05.09.2011 - Neumarkt/Oberpfalz – The German manufacturer Jurawatt presents its latest development at the PVSEC trade fair in Hamburg at the stall being ope- rated by J.v.G. Thoma. The solar modules of the JW-Flex series are flexible in any direction, ultra-light and available in all sizes.
The internationally significant photovoltaic trade fair PVSEC is going to be held in Hamburg from 5th to 9th September 2011. Scientists and delega- tes from industries and trade are meeting in the exhibition halls and at technical lectures to know more about the state-of-the-art status concerning the solar energy. The Bavarian enterprise Jurawatt takes this forum as an opportunity for market pre- sentation of JW-Flex. The flexible solar cells genera- te a high yield especially at inclined sun’s radiation. This is due to the spherical arrangement of silicon. An excellent thermal coefficient ensures that the modules have almost no loss of efficiency even when heated.
New areas of deployment are possible
Since the flexible, frameless solar modules do not require any substructure during assembly, users can explore new locations for power generati- on. For the technician, the installation becomes uncomplicated. He suspends the modules from shanks or screw fits them on the corresponding surface. A polymer foil closes in the silicon cells on the front and on the rear side and makes them movable. With just 3 kg per square meters the products in the JW-Flex series are absolutely light- weights. Jurawatt manufactures them in sizes A3, A4 and A1.
Research, development and production un- der a single roof The company puts high demands on the quality of its products; therefore, Jurawatt maintains its own research department and develops its products self-reliantly at its facility in Neumarkt where also the production is located. It also includes an inde- pendent test centre; here all modules are first tes- ted thoroughly before they are sent into the market.

11.07.2011 - Neumarkt/Freystadt, Upper Palatinate (Oberpfalz) – Germany’s Technical Inspection Association TÜV applies stringent criteria and normative specifications for its certifications in order to sign and seal the tested objects’ quality.
Solar panels are invariably exposed to extremely severe stress conditions, which is the primary reason why the J.v.G. Thoma Group and its subsidiary company Jurawatt attach great importance to extensive testing for their wide range of module constructions. High quality materials and accurate processing really pay off: TÜV North has issued already eleven certifications to the companies. J.v.G. Thoma GmbH and the 50-MW assembly of Jurawatt GmbH have proved that different modular constructions comply with the stringent regulations of TÜV. The product range extends from the Multi-Certificate with cells from three different manufacturers to black panels sourced from two different foil and aluminium manufacturers.
TÜV North is currently testing highly flexible foil modules “made in Oberpfalz” and is striving for another certificate for high temperature modules which is expected to be buttressed by a broad material base.
Success is something that one must be continually committed to. Therefore, J.v.G. Thoma and Jurawatt are determined to actively take their Research & Development division forward. As a result, currently, innovative concepts are being developed for the hybrid modules division many of which are patented already. Other projects are, for example, cooled modules, combination modules and advanced storage technologies.
Jurawatt GmbH is specialist in the production of high performance photovoltaic modules. The company insists on German quality from its suppliers as well as in the fabrication – to facilitate this, the production units are also located in Germany so as to ensure high precision processing and the best quality.
The modules by Jurawatt guarantee maximum energy yield; moreover, they are extremely robust as they are made of an especially sturdy aluminium frame. The solar specialist company provides a 12 year guarantee on all products. This is supplemented by a 10 year performance guarantee on at least 90% of the rated efficiency and by a 30 year guarantee on at least 80% of the rated efficiency. Jurawatt offers all round safety – for everyone.

What the performance rating of the imported solar modules actually? This is the question that many dealers as well as end customers generally have. Often the individual modules of a consignment differ in performance and capacity. At Jurawatt, dealers can get the values of their suppliers tested not only on a random sampling basis, but also through bulk tests. By this, they can get reliable data about the status of their goods. Fluctuations are identified at once and documented. This can be significantly advantageous during price negotiations in the purchase department. In the end, the test findings will improve the quality of future deliveries.
Fast, independent tests
The especially setup series of tests is designed for bulk tests ranging from 100 kW to maximum 5 MW per month. It is delinked from the production, but can be deployed at anytime. Thus, fast action is possible. Interested importers can get newly delivered solar modules or those from the warehouse tested at short notice. It includes checks such as the EL-Test, the high-voltage test and the Flash test. Besides, the experts at Jurawatt inspect the solar modules visually and for dimensional compliance. In this regard, they rely on the proven machines from J.v.G. Thoma GmbH, ”Made in Germany“. In the case of large volumes and for a test contingent of, say 10%, the cost per Watt is below 1 Cent.
